STEGOSAURUS
STEGOSAURUS
"This lumbering giant enjoys taking things nice and easy. It uses the threat of it's massive size and impressive weaponry to ward off most would be predators. Given its slow speed, it leans harder into fight than flight. Beware the tail! A well-aimed swing can be lethal. Although a fairly consistent sight on the plains, they can sometimes be found foraging on the outskirts of the jungle as well."

Keep your head protected
Do not panic swing at targets your defense will keep you alive long enough to land proper hits.
Placing your head near a rock or tree to prevent dinosaurs from getting at it easily is smart.
If you are in the open with a herd everyone should face each other heads and babies in middle (like this +) and swing to either side avoid moving too much as you may hit each other. Works best with 4 stegos from my experience.
Begging ends at 10% as a hatchling

HOLD ALT + LEFT CLICK | Tail Swing
Directional movement with camera.
Fast swings, assuming head is 0°, at 90°, 270°, 40°-60°, and 300°-320°.
Use baiting tactics to catch opponents off guard with one fast swing combo'd into another out the other side.
Forward fast swings reposition your stego, while ones directly out the side (90° and 270°) do not.
Base damage: 1200, headshot multiplier: 1.52x for 1824 damage. Against other stegs the head shot damage is 2500.5 with a 2.08375x modifier.
HOLD RIGHT CLICK | Charge Attack
Cooldown has been removed from the attack.
Consumes stamina
LEFT CLICK | Bite attack
DODGING ATTACKS | "Wiggle Waltz"
Alternate A and D to dodge headshots.
Biting during dodges baits in opponents for easy body shots.
Bite force of 50 is effective even at 50% growth (23ish bite force.)
Use bites for damage and swings to deter pouncing when fighting omnis that are good at avoiding swings.
After a tail swing, click to swing and press/hold S to trot backward, avoiding attacks.
BLEED |
Stegos tail swing inflicts significant bleed, most among playable dinosaurs.
Manage bleed by stopping movement when the red blood drop icon appears.
ZWalking increases bleed by 1.1x, Trotting will increase bleed by 1.7x, and Sprinting will increase bleed by 2.4x.
Less bleeding helps maintain stamina regeneration rate.
General |
Showing patience, even allowing free hits, can lull opponents into a false sense of security, creating opportunities to capitalize on their mistakes. Patience is a key factor in winning fights.
