Swimming & Riverbed Latching
Swimming
Swimming for some dinosaurs (like Deino) means living within the rivers or ponds scattered across the map. Other dinosaurs must blindly swim through the water and pray there isn't a Deino below. Each dinosaur depending on its weight, size and abilities may either move quicker or slower when swimming in water.

Tip: Seek shallow areas to move quickly across the water or if you are good at jumping just avoid wide sections of the river and jump across or use a log.
Beipi Leaping
Beipis are able to leap high into the air from the water. Leaping can be closer to the water surface or high in the air depending on if you are holding SHIFT and the direction your camera is facing.
Riverbed Latching
For dinosaurs like the Beipi the river can be a dangerous place. But because of their weight they are very bouyant. This means they need to be able to grab onto the riverbed and hold on to be able to hide in the tall grasses and avoid detection by larger predators like the Deino.
To latch onto the riverbed swim down until you are sitting at the bottom and then press your Crouch Key (Right Click may also work). To release use Spacebar. This will dig your beipi's claws into the riverbed and allow you to walk along it without floating to the surface. Be mindful of your oxygen.
